When you hire a car in Florida, there are a number of options available to you, and it is important to choose a car that is suitable for your needs, as well as being something that you feel comfortable driving on the sometimes busy roads of a foreign country. Choosing the right car for your Florida holiday can make a real difference to how much you enjoy your stay, and price should not be the only consideration when making your selection.
If you do not plan to do much driving, hiring a cheap economy car is fine, but it can be intimidating to drive one of these small veicles on the roads of Miami and Orlando, where many of the locals have a truck. It doesn't cost much to upgrade to compact car hire in Orlando for example, and these are a much more sensible choice, especially if you plan to go shopping during your stay.
Hiring a convertible is a great idea for sunny weather, although you should always park with the hood up, and wear sun tan cream when you drive on hot days, as the cool wind of movement can fool you into thinking that you aren't burning.
If you are travelling with the whole family, renting a minivan is a great idea, and means that you can enjoy plenty of space, while children will love being in a 4x4, as the extra height will allow them to see much more.
