Choose the right car for rental in Hong Kong
Published: 04/12/06
The majority of driving that you will do in Hong Kong will be along crowded city streets, and winding roads through the hills if you explore the villages and towns of the New Territories and Lantau Island. The first thing to make sure of is that you rent a car with air conditioning, so that you do not overheat in the humidity of Hong Kong city centre, where the temperatures can rise above 40C thanks to the effect of the buildings.
Parking can be a problem in the centre of the city, so it is often a good idea to rent a small car hire in Hong Kong, and economy prices start from around GBP25 per day. A small car will be fine for most people, ideal as a runabout, easy to park, and perfect for short drives.
If you are travelling to Hong Kong on business, why not rent a luxury saloon such as a Mercedes or Lexus to project a professional image when you arrive at meetings with clients in the city.
